Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

For giggles, they should have reversed the duets. Amber and Danielle would have been equally spectacular singing the Madonna song, and it would have been nice to see how Chamuel and Sasha perform when a song needs a strong voice and control. Something neither has shown so far.

Shakira will be over and out next week.

I have to thank all of you for keeping me updated. I am traveling in Europe right now, and have no means of watching. I object on principle to the criticisms of my girl Michelle, but of course I haven

Her last two weeks were her best.

I believe Michelle would be best enjoyed on the radio. She’s just too awkward for video.

Saw a Chamuel performance without the silly kneeldown. She was singing God Bless America at the Red Sox - Rangers game in Boston.

I also saw her singing at the Red Sox - Rangers game tonight and thought she did a pretty good job. But couldn’t she have fixed up a little? She looked like she just got out of bed.

I know you present all of your opinions as fact, but you’re just wrong about this. Danielle was pitchy and very stretched in the lower range on the duet. Amber out sang her by a mile. Danielle has done little to even show that she has great control. Her songs are all the same - straightforward throughout to the ending money note with very little emotion, finesse or interpretation. She’s young so that will come, but it’s not there yet.

While I didn’t notice anything “pitchy”, I agree that she didn’t seem as strong as Amber. It surprised me, because I thought she was great when singing solo.

It may all come back to song choice.

If you have Itunes, look up Michelle’s performance of “Somewhere Only We Know” ( an old favorite of mine!) Love it!

https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/somewhere-only-we-know-voice/id657247883?i=657247884

Cartera, ALL of us are sharing OPINIONS here. The facts might take the form of results, but what we think about the performers are opinions.

Isn’t that the way it works in a discussion forum?

Sigh. I try really hard to get the Michelle love but I don’t but I get the Danielle love. Different strokes for different folks.

Danielle sang one of my favorite Rodney Crowell songs. I prefer Rodney’s version because he nails the emotion of the song. As Adam said, she is technically years beyond her age but she missed the angst of the song, choosing instead to smile through it and it is not a happy song. That was weird to me and probably also a product of her youth. She wouldn’t be expected to “get” that song.

Not my favorite Michelle performance.

Yuck to song choice for Amber. She had to start way out of her bottom range in order to hit the upper range that few can hit without some auto tuning or heavy background singing.

I expected to be “wowed” tonight, but everyone seemed mediocre. IMHO, Danielle may have been the best tonight, but I don’t have a clue as to what emotion she should have shown.

Should be the end of the Shakira-Sasha tandem. One awful song and one horrible should do it. The rest had one very good performance and one between so-so and mediocre. Broken record here, but I had to switch channels after 30 seconds of the last song. The Kate Perry song was awful but the Adam song offered full redemption.

All in all, Texas ruled tonight. It should be the surprising finale. :)

I thought the Swon Brothers were wonderful.

My two favorites tonight were Amber and Sasha. My least favorite was the Swon Brothers.

The iTunes Top 100 Chart (Overall Chart)
16. Who I Am - Danielle Bradbery
17. Danny’s Song - The Swon Brothers
20. Please Remember Me - Danielle Bradbery
24. Turn the Page - The Swon Brothers
26. Sad - Amber Carrington
34. Time After Time - Michelle Chamuel
49. Clarity - Michelle Chamuel

and that is my opinion, and not a fact! In the meantime, it is hard to argue that the downloads are very much in line with MY ears, and perhaps with my eyes, in the case of a particular beloved contestant:

Here’s the complete rundown of where all the songs landed as of 10 a.m., when voting ended.

2: The Swon Brothers, “Danny’s Song”

4: Danielle Bradbery, “Who I Am”

6: Danielle Bradbery, “Please Remember Me”

8: The Swon Brothers, “Turn the Page”

9: Amber Carrington, “Sad”

12: Michelle Chamuel, “Time After Time”

24: Michelle Chamuel, “Clarity”

48: Sasha Allen, “I Will Always Love You”

66: Sasha Allen, “Bad Girls”

84: Amber Carrington, “Firework”

The last four songs listed were indeed plain awful. And, unless something crazy happens, Sasha should go home, and probably not a day too soon, as her coach has royally screwed up. So much for being a great coach! But, all considered, there was a worse coacj, namely her mother who told her to do a W. Houston song. Sasha is no Jack Vidgen!

xiggi

It takes being in the top 10 at 10 am today to get the itune multiple, right?

Do you think Amber’s #9 can offset the “indie” votes for Michelle by other methods?

So, bye-bye- Sasha and ???

I’m disappointed that this show became the Blake Shelton country music fest, since it’s not a genre I enjoy–I like some country rock, but the typical country song with unimaginative music, tale of woe and twangy-voiced singer makes my head hurt. The ratings are sagging, so maybe I’m not alone in that. I hope next season they institute a rule that a coaches can only choose a limited number of singers specializing in their own type of music, or else the same thing will happen again. All of Danielle-bot’s songs sound alike to me. For that matter, all the female country singers this season sounded the same to me. All in all a very boring season that has knocked the show off my list of favorites.
