Too much screaming from Jacquie on her final song. But the crowd seemed to love it.

Adam pretty much threw Will under the bus. But I don’t think he would have won anyway.
I’m thinking it will be Tessanne, Jacquie, Will.

Loved Tiny Dancer and Tessanne’s Whitney.

While Tessane was singing “Try”, H, who hasn’t seen any of the season, walked through the room, stopped for a minute, and said “I don’t like her voice,” and kept going. And then I realized that as much as I’ve tried to explain to myself and others why Tessane doesn’t do anything for me, it’s as simple as that. I don’t like her voice. It has nothing to do with her technical skills or style. It’s the tone of her voice. It’s not pleasant to me, and it makes every song she sings seem unappealing. (I also can’t imagine her having any meaningful commercial success as the result of participating in The Voice, but time will tell.)

As for Jacqui, that “And I am Telling You” was every high school talent show rendition of that song I’ve ever heard, and I’ve heard plenty. She couldn’t sustain the power required by the song, but more important, she didn’t exhibit any of the raw emotion and desperate yearning that’s absolutely necessary to sell the song–and how could she, at 16? It was a terrible choice for her, but no surprise that Christina would select the showy, over-the-top number with no regard for its suitability. I look forward to hearing more from Jacqui in a few years when she’s had some solid vocal training and is no longer under Christina’s spell.

Will–just great. Nothing else to say.

Had the opposite response. I put Will at the bottom.

As of right now…things could change…if itunes is any indication, Tessanne is way in the lead.

Tessanne’s I Have Nothing is #6.

Tessanne and Levine’s Let It Be, which I hated, is #14.

Tiny Dancer (Levine & Will) is #34.

Jacquie’s Telling…Not Going is #35.

Tessanne’s Bridge…is #41.

Will’s Everything I do is #43.

Tessanne’s Try is #52

We Remain is #57

Back to Black --Jaquie 64

Do the duets count in results? Anyone know?

From the iTunes downloads, which have predicted the weekly winners pretty reliably, Miss Jamaican Karaoke will win. (seriously, that Whitney song was 100% karaoke). So disappointing.

MommaJ, #1404.

Word.

I agree in every particular. I realized early on that I would rather listen to Tessanne talk than sing. Her voice just has an unpleasant timbre when she’s belting and belting and belting…and that’s mostly what she does.

Oddly enough, I was thinking to myself that it was surprising that neither of the female belters had sung “I Am Telling You,” when what do you know!

Vote for Will at 1-855-864-2302 :)

Tessanne’s Nothing Up to #5. Remember, she gets a bonus for being in top 10.

Will’s second song, Not Over You, isn’t in the top 100 as of now, which I think means he’s out of the competition.

Does the bonus still apply even in the finals? I thought it had dropped away before now.

Hey downloaders of the world, you really wanna listen to “I Who Have Nothing”? Download Whitney’s version. You’ll like it better, trust me. Sigh. It’s beyond me why anyone would want to pay to listen to Tessane’s instead–even a Tessane fan must know that she doesn’t come near the original, nor does she bring anything new to the party, which to me is the only justification for a cover of one of the classics.

It’s up to #3, so obviously not everyone agrees with you
!

I dont like Tessanne at all.

However, she won.

And I havent even watched the second half of the show. :)

My two cents:

Round 1 (blind audition songs) wasn’t even close…

Jacquie Lee!

Where’s xiggi? I expected him to have signed on to gloat :)

Will’s audtion sng finally broke into the top 100.

If I could only figure out the rules…

I thought Will gave one of his poorest performances in round 1. Might be why only 1 chair turned around in the blinds…

It’s so fun (and funny) to read the comments in this thread while I’m watching. Just finished with the first round, and I think Tessanne took it with her Try. I thought Jaquie was screechy. Loved Adam and Tessanne’s Let it Be. I also really liked Adam and Will’s Elton John. My personal ranking is Tessanne, Will, and then Jacquie.
So different from some here. I guess that’s what makes the world go 'round.

Well, I cast 10 votes for Will on two phones. I’ll have to leave it to someone else who has an iphone or ipod or whatever to download iTunes.

xiggi always casts his support behind the popular favorite, while maintaining that he secretly supports the succes d’estime contestant. :)

Welll…according to the Wall St. Journal…

Still don’t know if the duets matter.

I thought Tessanne did a great job with Houston’s song. It’s one of my favorites and I really enjoyed it. I also liked her duet with Adam.

I thought Jacqui sounded better on the blind audition version of Back to Black than she did tonight. That is my favorite Winehouse song and no one can touch her when they do it. I always find the lyric change amusing.

Will continued with some painful pitch problems, but mainly I just hate that Bryan Adams song.

Round 2 Duets: Jacquie laid an egg (imo)! I also liked Tessanne’s duet with Adam, but mostly when Adam was accompanying her on the guitar and not that much when they were harmonizing. Thought Will redeemed himself…
