Two years ago, I was supporting Nicholas. I called Pope a cruise ship singer and did not like that rocking Hobbit a bit. Last season, I hated the kneeling down no-voice who had a huge following. I said that Danielle was the best, and she was the best ever in all editions. She would have ran away with it this year.

And this year, I did not like Matthew who was popular. I liked Cole and Will. Never liked Tessane at all. I found her both annoying and boring. I still think Jacquie is a one note pony.

And there is nothing to gloat about. This was an awful season, everything considered.

I watched with a friend and we had a discussion pre-show about how no one should do Whitney or Adele…unless they can. Tessanne CAN and did - she has an amazing flawless range and nothing low or high sounds like work to her. She deserves to win this and I believe she will. I only watched this show because my neighbor got me watching…I knew Tessanne before this show and thought she was just OK but she’s put it out of the park, IMO.

Although Tessanne is not my personal favorite from a “personality” perspective, I think her duet with Adam tonight was unforgettable. I think she performed the best. However, Jacquie and Will are more likable, and I think Jacquie has a good shot of taking it all.

Only one of those links worked for me. Yes she seems to look better with long hair. Are the harsh, negative analogies and the earlier negative comments about her necessary? You don’t like her. Ok.

Oh good heavens, so what? Just having some fun here. Unless Tessane is an avid follower of the CC Parent Cafe, my comments are entirely harmless. Somehow I don’t think my opinion of Tessane is going to be an impediment to her career.

Anyway, I’ve liked Tessanne from the first time I heard her and I still do. I think she has the best voice of the three finalists. Her appearance is fine and would be marketable. If you want to base the competition on looks Jacquie is a clear winner and Will IMO would not be marketable.

We’ll see what happens tonight. Can’t wait!

Totally agree with jshain… Did not think Jacqui’s choice of songs helped her. Christina talks too much; I like her best when she is singing. random thoughts.

Tessanne was amazing, Will was good. I agree with Adam. Not many vocalists should take on Whitney, but Tessanne did it as well as Jennifer Hudson.

I think Jackie did really well on her solo, but her songs with Christine or the ensemble showed her pitch is not always on unless she is hitting bigger notes.

I also thought Tessanne was the best last night. I just don’t want another 16 year old girl to win, so really hope Jackie doesn’t make it. I love it when they say, “This is what I’ve wanted my WHOLE life!” I like Will, but don’t think he’s as good as either of the girls.

I also thought Tessanne was best last night, but I think Jacquie might win if the live audience reaction is any indication of how the public may vote.

I wasn’t really thrilled with any of the contestants this round. And the coach’s song choices are often questionable.

What is the deal with trashing the women on appearance, dress etc? Seems as though dissing Christina and female contestants on non-voice issues is (too) common on this thread.

Adam is competing against Christina for “top” coach this year. He went with TC last night who he thought was the more likely winner of the competition of his two remaining singers. How is that a surprise or negative?

MommaJ - you’re the one out of touch on the hairstyle. Short hair is very in. The pompadour mohawk (or fauxhawk) in particular, is very trendy and you’ll find that Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Janelle Monae, to name a few, have worn it. One place you will likely not find her hairstyle is at a beauty pageant. They are not likely to use a severe clip on the sides of the head.

I love Tessanne’s personality. I love to hear her speak. I wish some of that charm and lilt would make it into her singing. I think she is a tremendously powerful singer: I just don’t really like the braying tone of her voice when she is doing the belting thing, which IMHO she does too much. I’d like to see some head voice, some variation, more intimacy in her performance. I know she can do it, because there are moments. I’d also like to hear some beat, some swing, something other than ponderous power ballads. Lighten up, already. (FWIW, I was never a fan of Whitney Houston, either, although I acknowledge her talent. It’s just not what I would choose to listen to. I would rather listen to Van Morrison, which is undoubtedly why I like Will so much.)

The issue I have with her appearance as currently styled in that it mirrors the ponderous middle-aged sound and performances she’s been giving.

I doubt that Will will win, but I devoutly hope that he gets a big career boost out of this so that I can listen to his music.
