I would really like her to be successful. Me and my husband have flown with her Dad a number of times, and he is the most generous, honestly religious person. Almost makes you a believer. I’m sure his daughter is very similar.from what I’ve heard. There are so many talented people there, but I always hope the less conceited, good people make it through.

I just heard Jessie. i think she has a great voice.

Agree, Jessie is really unique, as well as Bree, but thought the most memorable audition was Anita to close the show.

It was nice to see Gwen hit her button fast and first for Jessie, rather than her usual waiting to see what her fellow coaches would do.

I remember Anita’s first audition when she didn’t make it. What a difference song choice can make. She really nailed it tonight! However, I do question whether Anita has enough versatility to keep voters interested week to week. Glad she picked Gwen over Adam. Even though fellow Jamaican Tessanne Chin won, I didn’t think her coach Adam did an especially good job with her song selection. It was somewhat ironic though that she did NOT pick Adam since he seemed to be the one who got her to return this season.

It was refreshing to hear the coaches praising one another tonight. It seemed heartfelt to me. I think Pharrel has really set the tone for publicly showing respect to his fellow coaches.

The new coaches are fantastic. Great personalities.

Really liked Anita. Bree had such weird breath control issue that I had trouble listening. Others were okay too but not particularly memorable.

I was astounded that the blind singer (Blessed? Blessing?) got four chair turns after singing most of his song completely off key. This supports my suspicion that the judges know a lot more about the auditioners than the show would like us to believe. I’m sure he had a human interest story thumbs up from the producers before he opened his mouth.

@MommaJ, I wondered exactly the same thing!

Another here who believes in @MommaJ’s theory. I just didn’t think Blessing was as good as he should be to go forward. I still haven’t heard anyone who can surpass James David whatever his last name is who closed the show on night one.

I didn’t think Anita was as amazing as the judges did, nor was Blessing. I wondered if it was because the crowd went crazy right away, that they knew there was something different about him.

I’m a little biased because reggae is one of my favorites genres of music so anyone who sings Bob Marley starts out a little ahead of the game with me.

I thought there were quite a few good singers tonight.

For me, the two that stood out on Tuesday night were Chris Jamison (the triplet who has 2 sisters) and Craig Wayne Boyd (the honky tonk guy)-- on Team Adam and Team Blake.

I enjoy watching but for the life of me I can’t remember who is who!

It will be interesting to see if the honky tonk guy can move beyond honky tonk.

Watched it mostly through FF the DVR, and I have to agree with Jym. Nobody truly memorable, and on the other hand, no stupid kneebending, last century’s hard rockers, or big screamers … yet. In other words, nobody to profoundly dislike and follow the show to see how bad it gets.

Fwiw, the new coaches are very kind and considerate. Despite Adam’s best efforts to rekindle the animosity level, the show has been very nice on that front. They might think of letting Adam take a rest for a couple of seasons. He is annoying and a pretty bad coach.

Last night of the blind auditions, Monday 10/6. Good night overall, but nothing that personally knocked my socks off. Not a huge fan of the battle rounds starting Tuesday, except for the steals and the guest mentors.

The guest mentors will be:

Stevie Nicks (Team Adam)
Little Big Town (Team Blake)
Gavin Rossdale (Team Gwen)
Alicia Keys (Team Pharrell)

Tune in!

I always wonder if there are singers that didn’t get to perform once the last judges slot is filled?

I liked quite a few last night, but I need to see them a few times before I remember their names. There were three young men, one age 15 and one that sang college acappella and one that played guitar, that were intriguing. I also liked the jazz girl with dark hair and bangs … I think she picked Pherrell.

I sometimes wonder if anyone ever gets onto the show without having a sob story.

Some of the contestants come from more well-off families, but they go to some trouble on the show to avoid emphasizing that, IMO. It does have an element of the old Queen for a Day. I guess its what sells these days.

I’ll be rooting for the Virginian, Ryan Sill, who went to my D’s school.
