I had to mute DaNica and Toia. It quickly devolved into a screaming match.

Last night I liked the 15 year old girl the best.

I did not see last week’s show. Was Pharell allowed to save one of his own signers?

dstark, I think Pharrell said that he “wished” he could steal one of his own teammates. I was hoping tonight that Gwen, who had the final steal of the battle rounds, would steal Brittany in the opening battle. I completely agree when Blake said that Beth would be well suited as a country artist. She lost her battle with Mia in the final performance and Gwen used her last steal to nab her. Wish Blake had one more steal left. I think he would have been the perfect coach for her.

Next week starts the knockout rounds. Each coach gets one more steal to use before the “live” performances.

I know of one person who makes it to the live performance. Which makes me happy.

You know, I really thought I was going to like Reagan (the 15 year old). But as good as she was, I could barely understand what she was singing. I really like Matt, he is compelling, something about him is so good. Like Danica, but hate how bad they made her look. Come on, they can do better than that.

One thing I wonder about. Gwen kept promising girls she could hook them up with clothes. Apparently they didn’t have access to clothes without her? But I haven’t seen any shots of her shopping with them, or any mention of it. Seems like an empty bribe.

Jshain, thanks. I like Beth. I liked Beth better than Mia. Maybe Blake will stiill get Beth.

I liked Brittany too. I thought she would be picked up. I liked her better than the guy.

I really wasnt blown away by anybody though.

I just saw Idina Menzel on Broadway. I would take her. :)

“I just saw Idina Menzel on Broadway. I would take her”

Ya think? She’s amazing.

She is.

The singers on the Voice dont blow me away. Are these really the best undiscovered singers in America?

Where are the Kelly Clarkson’s?

The Voice is really about the coaches. That is fine. I like the coaches.

I really loved Kelly Clarkson. But I think overall there are far better singers overall on the Voice than Idol. There have been some seasons on Idol that I thought nobody was very good. And on the Voice, they are all good. Maybe if we got to see them sing ten times, we’d appreciate them more.

I dont watch Idol anymore.

Maybe we would appreciate them more.

I dont know… It’s All About That Bass. :)

I like The Voice because it’s a lot of fun. The coaches have a good time, and the singers have a nice platform that may or may not pay off for them in the long run … but it’s an opportunity for them, and that is never a bad thing.

I really dislike screaming, and it is refreshing to me to find a singing show that doesn’t always reward the screamers. Yes, there are a couple of “powerhouse” females this time around on The Voice (not a fan of big vocals with annoying tone) - but there are fewer on The Voice than on similar shows.

I think I liked Matt best last night. I am looking forward to the progression some of the contestants will surely show as time goes on. That’s the best part! Pharrell seems like an excellent coach, and I can’t wait to see what he helps his contestants achieve.

I haven’t watched Idol since the Adam Lambert season. I agree that there is much too much screaming on many of these shows. You can already hear some vocal damage in some of the young singers. These shows not only do little to promote vocal health but actually cause harm by complimenting raspy, growling voices.

Taylor Swift is the guest coach next week for the knockout round. I’m looking forward to seeing what input she gives each singer.

dstark, Just took the poll that was in your link you posted on “favorite female coach”. Chestina had 45.6, Gwen had 39.2, and Shakira had about 15 percent of the votes. Somewhat surprised…

Jshain, Yeah…I voted for Gwen and then I saw the results. I am surprised too.

Well…Christina is a star.

I am glad Gwen is coming back.

I like that 15 year old that sang the Stevie Wonder song. Stevie Wonder is not what she listens to. I look forward to hearing her when she chooses the song.

I like Taylor and her so far. I missed the country guy that a lot of people like.

I thought it was such a setup to make the 15 year old sing the Stevie Wonder song. So obvious it was exactly in the other guy’s wheelhouse, and not hers, in any way. I was shocked when she was chosen, because I figured it was a done deal the other way around. Glad, though.

Me too…

I thought the opposite, that she would win (and her coach wanted her to win) since nobody but Stevie can sing a Stevie song his way.

I like Damien today. I also like the guy who sang You’ve Got A Friend. Show is not over yet.

Jessie did a fantastic job.

Jessie had her best performance so far, showing more range than expected. She was fantastic! The guy singing You’ve Got A Friend was James David Carter. I like him a lot but thought he played it kind of safe tonight. Taylor has been my favorite right from the get-go but Luke had a solid song choice and delivered a great vocal performance. I think quirky and talented Taylor, along with his adorable daughter, is going to get a lot of votes in the live rounds. Pharrell may regret taking Luke…

Taylor Swift made a GREAT guest coach!
