Is there a benefit in sending extra SATII scores?

I know that most schools only require 2, but I know people who take 4 or 5… What’s the point? Is there a benefit in sending more than the required number of Subject Test scores?

theyre impressive. they help place you in college classes. and 5 800s are impressive.

Ok, really? Even I know that’s not true. SATIIs are for admission purposes, not placement purposes.

I argue that there’s a thin line between “wow! He’s smart!” and “wow! He has no life!”

^i’d rather agree w/ this line "wow! He’s smart!‘’.

I’m pretty sure there are many people out there who can actually study really hard and get a good score without losing their ‘‘lives’’.

some schools use SAT IIs for placement purposes…

The only school I saw on that list was Fordham… which I’ve never heard of. That’s stretching it a little, isn’t it?

Foreign language SAT IIs can be used for placing out of a foreign language requirement at most colleges.

Home schoolers need several Subject Tests scores, and I would guess that Internationals can strengthen their app with a bunch of 800’s as well. So, higher is ALWAYS better, and more tests (assuming they are sufficiently high) are absolutely better.
