Is there a brand of waterproof mascara that is really waterproof?

I have chronic dry eye (like in the Restasis commercial) which means lots of eye drops of various kind. I used to use Covergirl’s Marathon mascara, and it held up. I can’t find that anymore and the eyedrops just dissolve the Lash Blast.

Are you aware of a brand of waterproof mascara that is really truly waterproof?

The only waterproof mascara I have have found is no mascara. Seriously, with all the graduation events going on right now I wake up, look in the mirror, decide if the day has tear potential, THEN make the decision to wear or not wear mascara!!!

But will be interested to hear other opinions. :)

Have you considered having your eyelashes tinted? I’ve had it done many times, usually right after a facial. It doesn’t make them appear much thicker, but it does make them actually show up on me, a blue-eyed blonde. It lasts about a month.

Is tinting different from dying? Years ago I was going to have my lashes dyed before a beach vacation. I read about it - dangers of going blind and all - but made an appointment anyway. When I got to the appointment, they were out of lash dye, so I figured it was God telling me not to do it.

I have the tiniest eyes ever put on a human being, so I really need eye makeup.

i have tried the lancome hypnose and i was/am disappointed. it goes on well, looks great, but at the end of the day, i have raccoon eyes. even if i don’t shed a tear.

i bought a new tube of l’oreal extension or some such name this morning. i hope it works better!

My D is on drill team and they buy this lipstick that DOESN’T come off…she can eat a cheeseburger and the lipstick is still perfect. Where is the mascara equivalent?

I absolutely NEVER buy any mascara that isn’t waterproof. I’ve had pretty good luck with Maybelline Lash Discovery. It’s the very fine brush that separates tiny little eyelashes. I find it works best to apply about 3 coats (not a problem as it dries very quickly.) Maybelline Great Lash also works but goes on a little thick sometimes causing clumping.

I also buy stuff that says it’s waterproof…and maybe it is WATERproof, but not Restasis/saline/steroid eye drop proof.

Lipsense. Stays on forever!

Mac splashproof mascara is very good. I have very watery eyes, and I wear contacts. The only time I get smudges is if I take a nap with my mascara on. You have to get it at the Mac counter in Macy’s/Nordstrom or a Mac store (or on-line) but its not much more expensive than drug store brands.

What kind of lipstick does the drillteam wear? I would love to find that.

This works very well for me:
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P46017

I do pretty well with Cover Girl that has the colors that supposedly match your eyes. Not sure what it’s called. I get the waterproof version for summer, but in winter I wear the non-waterproof one but put clear mascara over it. It never seems to run.

Lash tinting is the same as lash dying. It is vegetable-based and even if a bit gets in your eye, it certainly won’t make you blind! It actually sounds worse than it is, but it is really only a 10 minute procedure similar to having someone apply mascara to your lashes then wipe it off five minutes later. I’ve had it done at a few different salons without any problems, and my eyes are quite sensitive and prone to watering. I sometimes even tear up when I go out into bright sunlight. It’s worth a try at least.

Be careful with the Blinc mascara. I tried it when it first came out and the little “tubes” sometime come off prematurely, getting in the eye or perching right on the cheekbone. It also takes considerable rubbing of each lash to remove it completely, and you may lose a few lashes in the process.

I haven’t had that problem, but I can see how it could happen.

L’Oreal makes a similar product: [Buy L’Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes Lash Extension Effect Mascara, Blackest Black Online at drugstore.com](Walgreens: Pharmacy, Health & Wellness, Photo & More for You)

The biggest benefit: no raccoon eyes

Missypie, I want to know too - what kind of lipstick does the drill team wear??

I’ll have to look it up. It’s a brand we order from some lady.
