I’m currently attending OCC in CA, enrolled in the construction technology program they offer. Lately however, I’ve been considering enrolling in the automotive program neighboring community college in case CT doesn’t pan out. Even if I don’t make a career out of it, I’d like to learn about construction so that I can invest in fixer upper houses later on down the road, but I also want to take advantage of the fact that my dad already has his own mechanic shop, so I wouldn’t be starting from scratch like he did.
Both programs have a total of about 50-70 units in order to receive your certificate of completion/aa degree. That would mean that I’d have to take more than 100 units in order to complete both programs. My question is, is there a cap on the number of units the BOG waiver/financial aid will cover at the community college level with no intent of transferring to a university? or does it depend on the circumstance?
