Is there a problem with taking both english r/c courses sophomore year?

When I was at calso, everyone recommended to take them during your freshmen year for an unknown reason…

I don’t think so, but it’s good to get it out of the way. I wish I could have done my RCB in the fall, but I was stupid.

Build up your writing skills, so you can put your newly acquired skills to work as quickly as possible? …I don’t think there’s a lot of writing, though…

I would try to get them out of the way because it’s really hard to get into them, so if you consistently try for a few semesters, you’re bound to get in eventually. Also, a lot of your lower div classes are big so it’s easier to get in Phase II so you can Phase I an R&C class.

well the writing skills you gain as a frosh/soph earlier will help you with writing/research papers for classes you take further in your academic career.

I think it was because the first half of the R&C requirement is due somewhat early (don’t exactly remember), and as previously mentioned, it’s hard to get into R&C classes, so its best to keep trying to get into them, rather than wait till the last semester you can take it and not get into any

there’s nothing wrong with taking them after freshman year. i took my R1B during the spring semester of my sophomore year and didn’t have to waitlist for the class.

And, you’re most likely coming out of high school with AP Language or Literature under your belt. R1A and R1B are AP Lang/Lit respectively.
