Is there a social niche for everyone?

Is it hard to fit in at Yale based on personal experience (or on a friend’s experience)?
Thanks!

Absolutely not! There are so many types of kids and activities at Yale that everyone can find some kind of group, whether your question targeting more general “kids who go out vs. kids who don’t go out” kids or more specific “kids who are also majoring in computer science.”

I think, though, that my answer to your question applies to essentially any large-ish university and is not necessarily unique to Yale.

Yale is a very welcoming, open place. As long as you bathe regularly, you’ll find a group.

^ Hmm, I would argue with that. I think there’s even groups for those that don’t bathe regularly… lol.

^ Haha, too true. I have been amazed at the diversity of social groups that exist here. There is a place for everyone, whether that means just hanging out with your suitemates, or being part of a larger social group (i.e. theater, YPU, etc.) It’s usually the case that people have more than one social group. People usually have friends from their activities (again, YPU, theater, debate, etc.) and from their suite and colleges, etc.

Don’t worry. If you come here, you will have plenty of friends.
