Is there always a non-passage based question in the science section

Hi,

To those of you who have taken multiple act tests, have you found that in every test there is a question on the science section that can not be found within the passage or is this a rare occurence (ie one test a year). Have the ACT test makers started to include these types of questions recently or have the been doing this for years/decades. In the real ACT red book, I do not remeber there being any non-passage based science questions on the test so I am not sure if this is a new trend or what. Thanks.

They’re generally commonsense\ info you learned a while ago, but you just need to logically apply it.

I’ve seen mitosis question, photosynthesis, and a chemistry one. There’s less then 1-2 questions that need prior knowledge, sometimes none.
