is there any hope for me at BERKLEY?

hi,I am 26 years old at home stay mom of 22 month old girl ,originaly i am from Croatia, have been in this country for 4 years now,I am a straight A LIberal Arts student(4.0 GPA)
at the Bourough of Manhattan Comunity College in New York City,
I would like to know what are my chances of transfering to Berkley(University of California) and is it really worth it?(tuition, etc.),my college is a part of CUNY(i can go there)but Berkley seems so much more atractive, what should i do?where should i start?,can someone help me?please btw.i am going out there in august,to check out the campus, many thanks

you should flaunt the story you just told in your personal statements. and keep your 4.0. Although you have a slim chance from a cc in new york, you should still try your best and see what happens (priority goes to calif. community colleges).

ucb has not been too kind too out of state people. But, there are have been who been accepted.

Aren’t there any good schools in NY?

Moving to CA and paying out of state tuition, frickin expensive, doesn’t make that much sense.

upss, sorry for the story i was just asking, not trying to brag or anthing else, story or no story,i am interested…thanks for the advice!!

it’s spelled berkeley.
there’s actually another school called berkley (the way you spelled it).

ANYWAYS… i don’t know if it’s worth it for you to transfer all the way across the United States when you also have a 22 month old girl. it’s just my opinion, but i think you should just stay put or find a better school in your area. berkeley is extremely competitive and it’ll cost you a fortune.
