Do you know any prestigious physics summer camps, which are often recommended by top colleges?
Because I’m not interested in math but only physics, famous math camps such as Promys and Canada/USA Math Camp don’t attract my interest in them.

Yes, probably the most famous is the U.S Physics Team Training camp in which 20 students are selected for the U.S Physics team and from which 4 students are selected for the Traveling team, which goes to the International Physics Olympiad.

In order to be selected, you must first place in the top 400 scorers in the F=ma exam (usually around 15/25 is the cutoff) and then you advance to the semifinal exam. Your semifinal exam score along with your transcript, recommendations, etc are factors in selection for the U.S Physics team and the camp.

Thanks for your answer!
I’m just studying to pass the semifinal exam.
But I just heard that they have such a camp.

Summer Science Program!!! Super challenging, but also a great, GREAT experience

Thanks for your recommendation! But because I was born on June 21th, 1995 although I’m a Junior, I’m not eligible to apply for the Summer Science Program. I’m so sorry.

Could GetExcited or worry123 tell how to locate the Summer Science Program? Is it associated with an organization or university? The name is so general that I can’t find it online. Thanks.

Just thought I’d add my own tidbits to the conversation, albeit a couple years late.

One of my friends applied to the International Summer School for Young Physicists (ISSYP). For others who are looking for summer physics programs in the coming years, this could be an attractive option!
