<p>I have very serious insomnia for which I am receiving medical treatment and I think my sleeping habits might **** off a roommate in a double room. Does anyone know of a way I could get a single room on-campus my first year? The websites seem pretty explicit about not giving single housing to first-year transfers…</p>
<p>If your doctor is willing to right to the school that you need a single room it should be sufficient. My cousin had this done because she has diabetes and was afraid someone might be freaked out that she had to take shots 3 or 4 times a day and take his blood 7-8 times daily.</p>
<p>If the school denies your request you can always find an offcampus studio apartment somewhere nearby.</p>
<p>It’s pretty much impossible to get a single at Berkeley unless you are an RA or have a serious medical condition. Not sure if insomnia would count, so you’ll have to contact them.</p>
