I know this is a stupid question, I’m just interested if anyone can find an article, that predicts what your sat score might be considering you ssat. Of course, you could get a 53rd percentile ssat and a 1600 sat, but…
They are different tests, so the answer is no. That said, if you knocked it out of the park on the SSAT, you are smart and good at standardized tests. I’d guess that you’ll also do well on the SAT. If you really want to know how you’d do on the SAT, take a practice test. Otherwise, relax about this and focus on your classwork.
You are in Grade 6, worrying about applying to boarding school for Grade 9, and apparently trying to figure out if your SSAT score (which per other threads you are disappointed in) reflects on your ability to get a good SAT score so that you can get into good colleges in 6 years.
Seriously, stop this now. Middle School is not just about getting into a feeder boarding school, and secondary school is not just about getting in to college. It is a time when you are meant to be growing up, learning about you and what shapes suit you. The bonus is that your best bet for getting into a good school is by taking your school work seriously and putting your heart into doing things that matter to you. B/c it’s not just grades and test scores that are going to get you into either the boarding schools or the fancy colleges: it’s the whole package that you bring with you.
If you are currently “obsessed” (from your other thread) about getting into fancy names, take that energy and put it into something that they will respect. Drive and determination harnessed to something productive will get you farther than daydreaming about getting the sweatshirt.
If I knew you were in 6th grade, I would definitely tell you to relax about this. A 6th grade SSAT will not say much at all about an 11th grade SAT. Nor do you even need to be thinking about the SAT at all at this point! Your job right now is to explore your interests and try new things. Read a lot – which will help you explore interests and it will help with your vocabulary, your reading skill, and your general wisdom. Pay attention in school and try your best – you may find that the more effort you put in, the more interesting each of the courses will be. Be a good, kind, and supportive classmate and friend. Put your energies into whatever turns you on – sports, music, robotics, astronomy, woodworking, whatever… and continue to try new things. That’s what will make you confident and happy and interesting and it’s also what will help in achieving a good high school and college fit later on.
