if so, can you please let me know some stats about your high school career. i.e. GPA, SAT, grades, AP tests…

i am a junior and i am doing pretty well; however, my first SAT score was pretty low [1700], but i am planning on bringing it up. as well, my freshman year was a little off. i got one C and a few Bs… but my sophomore and first semester of junior year i received all As and one B. this year i have 5 AP classes as well. i am really involved and i am in asb, nhs, csf, key, interact, vball… i will be NHS president and a high position in ASB… i also have a job tutoring kids and volunteer at a hospital. so, what are my chances?

umm… i am 29/468 in my class. however, i have ASB as a zero period therefore it brings down my rank. my college weighted gpa is a 4.5 and regular weighted is 4.4. nonweighted is 3.9. however, it is will go up slightly when i finish my junior year. i am also in JSA, and i have been to a number of conferences. in asb i have attended camps. my summers are busy with volunteering and asb. next year i will have 5 ap classes and asb, so i will only have 6 classes since asb is a zero period. i passed my last ap test, ap european history with a three and i hope to pass more.

everything is steady except my freshman year [but they don’t look at that, do they?]

ooh. do they take the highest sat scores too ?

You’d have a good chance. Go to the ‘chances’ forum and look at the thread on ‘actual results’ – there are many responses on Berkeley and UCLA in there.

Practice the SAT, get 2000 and you’re probably in. Get 2100 and you can take a breath. Get 2200 and chill out. Get 2300 and know that you’re in. Get 2400 and decide to apply to Harvard.

^^ no. There have been numerous cases in which perfect scorers are rejected. Top colleges like Harvard like to brag about how many perfect scorers they reject, it seems.

yea i got into one of those two with a 3.9 weighted and an 1800…i only took it one time (no asian parents). My Extra curriculars were really good though. I’m a really active kid.
