Is there anything like re-evaluation for FinAid?

Hi ccers.
I’m a transfer student and I have to consider the FinAid. The two colleges I want to transfer to most are Brown and MIT. However, since I’m an international, Brown is need-aware while MIT is need-based.

Since I don’t want to jeopardize my chance of being admitted to Brown, I won’t to apply for aid. If I got admitted by Brown but now MIT I would just go there.
However, if I’m admitted by both Brown and MIT, and MIT gives me aid, can I ask Brown to re-evaluate my application need-aware?

Any comments will be much appreciated.

Your terminology is a little off. B is need aware and MIT is need blind for admissions; both are need based for FA.

The answer to your question is no.

Since B has need aware admissions for transfers (not just Intls.), saying that you are not applying for FA is an admissions factor that they take into consideration when making the decision whether or not to accept you. Therefore, if you are admitted on this basis, you cannot turn around and ask to be considered for FA.

Also note that B has limited FA for transfers:

[Transfer Applicants | Undergraduate Admission](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)

And you have to apply for FA when you apply or you will not be considered in subsequent years:

[Transfer Applicants - FA Policy | Financial Aid](Apply for Aid as a First-Year or Transfer Student | Financial Aid Undergradute | Brown University)

Thank you for your reply! My parents could probably work out three years’ tuition, but I do wish to ease their burden.
However, since I really want to transfer to colleges like Brown, I don’t want to apply for FA since the competition for FA is much more intensive. I may graduate with loan, but for me education is more important than money.
