Today I was running in my neighborhood. As I heard a car coming, I moved to the curb of the road to get out of the way. The car proceeded to move toward me, onto the curb, in order to park, but it did not slow down in order to let me get out of the way first. Had I not jumped into the grass at the last minute, the car would have hit me.

Usually I try not to get in cars’ way when I run, but in this case I’m not really sure what else I could have done. I don’t want to be a jerk to the driver, but is there anything (that is not totally rude) that would be appropriate to say in such a situation-- to advise the driver not to continue to endanger pedestrians in the future?
