is there anyway to increase my chance..

What can I do from now till the decision day to increase my chance…
My dream school is emory university but I applied for RD because my stats are not good and I thought I would retake SAT in January and send that score in…
What can I do?..Should I write them a letter saying they are my first choce and explain how I wanted to do better on my standardized tests so that I waited to apply for RD? My hobby is to paint…not professionally just for fun…and I painted emory university…should I send them my painting? What can I do? I can’t imagine myself at any other place…

ubmp!!!

It’s really hard to evaluate how to improve your chances without some perspective of where you stand in their applicant pool. I would send a letter stating they’re you definite first choice but I wouldn’t send the painting simply because they’re going to get people whose lives are dedicated to art applying. Just chill, most of it’s out of your control now.

Haha, the painting sounds awesome. I’m no expert, but I would say send it.

You can learn a language…do you know any other than English? Start learning an instrument…(mind it it is costly). If you are interested in Science/ engineering…think of new ideas, innovation…do some experiments and research at home. Finally SAT s aren’t everything.
All the best.

English is my 2nd langauge…and I can play an instrument…in fact I am the concert master for local orchestra… and I am interested in political science and science both so I like liberal arts… Lastly, I am a senior and those things won’t make any difference now…:frowning: But thank u phoenix

Can you submit a late application to Oxford? You are automatically admitted to Emory after 2 years, and it has easier admission standards.

^ don’t write a letter. If you want to send in anything, try to win some awards (not just regionally, but state-wide and nationally) before the application review is over. That could increase your admission chances quite a bit. For example, if you’re notified later in the school year that you’ve been selected as a National Merit Finalist, definately send that information to Emory, by e-mailing your regional admissions officer or someone else working in the admissions.
