I have an EFC of 0 but want to attend a pre-orientation program at Yale, most likely Harvest. However, I don’t know if it’s kind of late to ask for financial aid or what the financial aid for the program consists of. If there is financial aid for the program, who do I contact and what does the aid consist of (loan or grant)?

I do believe that it’s a grant given by the financial aid office at Yale. There is a specific section asking you if you need financial aid. Furthermore, those who received financial aid from Yale should also recieve financial aid for the pre-orientation programs.

Thanks. However, I don’t think I can do a preorientation program any more because it will be a big hassle to bring the luggage over after the program since I live in California, and I can’t store the stuff at Yale before the program starts.

virtuoso–Are you sure that the dorms aren’t open the day you’d depart for your pre-orientation program? Back in the day, they were open so you could drop your stuff off, take what you needed for pre-orientation, go to pre-orientation, and then unpack when you got back. Things may have changed, but it’s bad planning by Yale if they have.

Can current undergrads shed some light on this?

I also have that problem. It’s too much of a hassle to ship things over after the preorientation program, so I am not going to bother, though I would love to go if it really were otherwise.
