I’ve been thinking about what career I want to take. I have an interest in drones and vehicles, and that’s what made me choose to major in ET, but I am not very interested in much else in that major. However, I do have an interest in doing firefighting work and rescue work of some kind.
What I would love to do someday is work a job where I can both work with maintaining, repairing, and driving rescue and scouting vehicles and drones, and also do rescue work using those vehicles and drones, along with traditional rescue techniques, and with the increased use of robotics in various fields, and the increased demand for people with several different skills, I feel like a job like this is going to exist sometime soon, if not already. I just don’t know how to get into it.
So, is there such a thing as, what I guess would be called a Search and Rescue Field Technician? Also, where do I begin to get into SAR work?
