How hard would it be to be involved in multiple extracurricular activities at Yale, like say a student symphony, an a cappella group, some community service group, and an intramural sport? Would I have time to do all of these things, or do some of them require too much time? The a cappella groups at Yale seem maybe a little more time-consuming and intense than at some of the other schools. Do any of y’all have opinions about/experience with this? Thanks!

in short: you will find the things you’re most interested in, and you will find a way to make time for them. don’t worry too much about it 'til you get there :p

… as a side note, i have a friend who sings with an a cappella group, directs & plays in one of the student orchestras (that means rehearsals + board meetings every week), and seems ot make everything work. i play with two orchestras, dance with a time-intensive dance group, and am planning on adding on a paying job next year. and an hour or two of tutoring each week, if i can handle it.

multiple extracurriculars are definitely possible - in fact, it’s pretty normal to be involved in several student groups. just don’t take on more than you can handle :)
