<p>I was thinking of writing about how my parents, who are immigrants from a third world country, have greatly influenced me as a person. My parents are doctors and came to America to live the "American Dream." My parents still value the culture and tradition from their country. So basically, I feel like I am holding onto my parents traditions, yet I am living in America.</p>
<p>it depends how you go about it. the “first generation american” story has definitely been done…but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t make it a solid essay, especially if you showed vulnerability and linked the impact to other spheres of your life</p>
<p>It’s doable, but make sure that you make the essay about you and not them.</p>
