Is this a good idea?

My dad’s friend in India is an neurosurgeon and his brother is a cardiologist. They have a couple friends who are namesake directors at local municipal (government run) hospitals. My idea was to go there, get first hand experience in live surgeries (laws there are bogus), take notes on operations, how a doctor reacts in stress, etc. Then, I want to go to one of India’s finest hospitals with world-renowned facilities (not sure where but there are a few great hospitals all over India) and compare how doctors react to certain situations and patients are treated over there. I feel this experience might give me a good essay topic to write about for college essays as well as give me the edge over other applicants in medical programs due to unique firsthand experience not available in this country. Do you guys think its a good idea to follow through with?
