<p>I wouldn’t apply to that many Ivies, and I’d add more to the “match” section. You might think that if you get into an Ivy you would automatically love it, but one of your safer schools will allow you to excel more while still being challenged, rather than being buried.</p>

<p>For safeties – see if any automatic full-ride or full-tuition scholarship schools are places that you like (if you do like them, then you can save your money for expensive medical school and avoid or minimize debt that can be a drag either if you go to medical school or enter the job market with a humanities or biology degree). Note that no specific major is required to do pre-med, although you need to include the pre-med course work (which should not be too hard to fit in alongside a humanities major).</p>

<p>Other possibilities to apply may include other streamlined medical school admissions programs (similar to Brown PMLE) if you are very sure of wanting to go to medical school.</p>

<p>Look at Northwestern’s combined medical program, and at the University of Alabama as a safety… You’d get a full tuition scholarship, allowing you to save money for medical school. Ohh, and your list looks pretty good, though you need more match schools.</p>

<p>I’m not sure OP needs more matches - he or she is a VA resident and VA has great options for in-state, include VCU which makes a good safety. You might want one more safety so, if disaster strikes, you have another option - but if you’re happy with VCU, then skip that. The reaches are all wild cards - so the question is whether you would be willing to pay top dollar for a non- HYPMS when you’ve got such good matches. If the answer is ‘no’ then your list is fine as is.</p>

<p>I think the list is fine since you are a VA resident. But I am pretty sure that Harvard has Single Choice EA which means you may not be able to apply to both Harvard and UVA early (look it up to be sure). Maybe apply to a rolling school as well.</p>

<p>Might look at Holy Cross-near Boston. Holy Cross has great pre-med program and good financial aid.</p>
