Is this a good plan to boost gpa?

I am going to CS this term, and just wondering about the placement test… I am pretty confident that I can pass the placement test for general chem 1 and calculus 1… but will it be a good plan to go take those class to boost my gpa? do you think it worths the time that i will save?

I took calc 1 even when though I got credit for it, for the gpa. I’m not sure if it was smart to do, but I got the A and it worked out fine. My friend did the same thing and ended up getting a C-, so I’m sure he would advise against it. It really depends on the proffesor you get. There’s advantages to both options, obviously. If you place out of both classes, eventually down the road you won’t have to squeeze in an extra class or two in a semester where the rest of your classes are hard.

I would take the chem placement test though. I’ve met so many people that tried to take the class for gpa boosting and ended up getting dominated.

NO there are plenty of other GPA boosters class than chem or calc

On this topic:

What knowledge would generally be needed to be able to test out of chem? (My highschool teacher wasn’t that great and I’ve heard chem is the weedout class =\ )
