Is this a good reason for a supplementary rec letter?

My school district’s superintendent wrote me a supplementary recommendation letter for a school’s ED program, but I don’t want it to seem like I’m name dropping. I’ve worked with him several times on district projects and he kept the rec letter relatively focused on one of my activities and its importance. Is this a good enough reason to send it as a supplementary rec letter?

Yes

That sounds just fine. You worked with the superintendent and he can have something positive to add to your application that a classroom teacher would not write about.

IMO name dropping would be more along the lines of trying to get a LOR from your father’s friend who never met you and has nothing in particular to say about you but thinking it will help because he/she is famous.
