Do you guys think working closely with kids in special education is a meaningful volunteering opportunity? Will adcoms recognize the physical and emotional dedication/fatigue/etc that is lacking in some more generic experiences?

Btw , sorry if this is in the incorrect section.

You sound like you want to do this, think it would be good on your college resume, but realize that the physical exhaustion might be too much with your academics. Can you cut back hours? If not, perhaps another activity might work better. But if your intended major is special education teaching, then perhaps you ought to do it to make sure you like it.

@supercilious You’re getting a lesson in Economics. Time is scarce and you have a lot of things you want to do. You’ll need to determine how you want to handle it. It will be a personal choice. Only you can decide what is the best way to handle it.

I agree with @Pinnum that you should do it because you enjoy it. I think it is a great opportunity, but you need to make sure your intentions as genuine.
