This morning, for the first time, I’m getting a sharp pain just under my ankle bone, above the next bone towards the foot (you’ll have to feel that bone to know where I’m talking about).
I don’t have to be standing. I can walk without pain, but if I turn my foot a certain way , it happens. It happened the first time with my feet up, even.
No tingling, no numbness. Argh. These things that just pop up out of nowhere are so aggravating.
Looking for more context. Did you have any mishap with your ankle - like fall off a sidewalk or something? Start a new exercise or form of activity? Wear a new pair of shoes for an extended period of time?
Anything you can think of that might have induced the pain?

Nope, never had an issue. I notice it’s when I turn my foot out. If I walk straight, I’m fine. Even if I’m just sitting down, and move that foot outward, it sharp. After it happened, I put my finger on the center of the pain and it’s actually on the bone below the ankle bone. Might need to see my podiatrist. But what could that be? Bone spur?
Any chance of, say, a hairline fracture?
Could be a bone spur since changing position affects pain. Do you have arthritis?
I have a pain in my hip that is similar: only when I lie on that side. X-ray did show a bone spur. Is this affecting walking?
A podiatrist might be a good idea…and in my experience PT’s are often the best for diagnosing.
Is it the ankle bone by the big toe or little toe? Could be an ankle sprain or tendinitis. Go see your Podiatrist tell them I said hi. Lol

It is the big toe side. It’s the long bone that runs below the ankle bone by the bottom of your foot.
How would my podiatrist know you?
It has started to effect my walking a bit unless I walk absolutely straight. I don’t have arthritis on my feet that I know of. Only my back.
I hope your Podiatrist would know. Lol. Get it checked out. Could be lots of things.
