Is this a surprise?

I have always told my children that they are going to fail at times. That is as much a part of life as being successful-maybe more so. And I told them that they will have failures that are their fault and failures that are no fault of their own. They will do stupid things they will later regret. They will make mistakes because they thought about something the wrong way or not at all. There is no getting around it. So how you deal with the failure is important not whether you fail. What can you do, if anything to salvage things, and if you can’t, how will you handle things. Sometimes you will be ashamed of how you handle something. That too is normal. But as a parent, I’ll always be there in your corner. You can let me help you. And when you are an adult, you can let those who love you help you dig out of a failure. Failure will happen. Surround yourself with people who know that and who don’t love you only as a “winner”.
