<p>Hey so I wanted to write my college essay about diversity and am curious whether the following sentence is true.</p>
<p>" colleges spend time making sure their incoming class is diverse, but never ask the students about the diversity they are regularly exposed to"</p>

<p>Well the first clause is true, but one of the Common App prompts is about how students can add diversity to the college. Many of the supplements also ask variations of this, so it’s not really correct to say colleges “never” ask the students about diversity.</p>
<p>Perhaps instead try “rarely” or “often don’t” or “sometimes don’t” or whatever. Avoid superlatives.</p>
