My “personal essay” is centered around the fact that I’d prefer an educational environment that allows for more intellectual experimentation. Do you think this sounds like a load of malarkey?

I think it can be a valid topic, but I am not an admissions counselor… although I think this might be a refreshing topic for one to read if its written right and is genuine. Do you think its a load of malarkey, or do you truly believe what you’re saying in the essay?

I can see a few interpretations of “intellectual experimentation.” First I think of academic freedom - in addition to having the choice to select whatever courses you would like to take, you also want the freedom to set your own assignments and projects, or basically do what you want in your particular field of study.

You would have to explain what you mean, of course. To better gauge your reason’s validity, maybe you could elaborate to me what you mean by “intellectual experimentation.”

I think I did a good job of defending my case (it’s not particularly entertaining but it gets the point across); I’m just insecure and worry about having to rewrite my essay because I might have chosen a lousy focal point. Lack of freedom to explore different subject areas isn’t the primary reason I’m transferring, but it’s probably the best reason
