Is this an acceptable optional photo?

<p>I made this “creative” submission for another college, and was thinking it could perhaps work for the optional photograph for Columbia.</p>

<p>Is it acceptable? or does it give off the “I’m trying too hard” vibe?</p>

<p>Sorry to horn in on the thread, but how did you guys get your pictures to less than 250 KB? Mine isn’t Photoshopped or anything, I just cropped it and put it on Word. It’s 1400 KB! Help!</p>

<p>What do you think COLUMBIA would think, about this collage? (I don’t want to hurt my chances,lol) Would they like my “candid” photo? or this “doctored” one? Also, if I were to use a candid photo, would this one work? (w/o the Photoshoping) The peace sign is kind perhaps too Asian? :/</p>

<p>^^to make mine smaller i compressed it as a pdf. but i have no idea what that means, its just an option on my computer. i hope Columbia can still view it, cuz the compression took it from about 800KB to 70KB…</p>

<p>I like the collage form! But I’m not the verifiable source on what Columbia thinks…
The candid photo with the peace sign would probably be too Asian, yes.</p>

<p>I love it! It seems like something that would fit Columbia, since it’s an artistic school. And while it shows your creativity, you still look “normal.”</p>

<p>I don’t think it looks like you’re trying too hard, either. They’ll probably think it’s something you did in one of your art classes, and just decided to use for your app.</p>

I honestly think the photo is just for the admissions officers to match an application with a face they’ve previously seen…BUT I think they will count the collage in as a cute creative factor. So go for it!</p>
