Is this an appropriate response to this question?

I’m sorry, but I honestly have three questions:

  1. “What is something in your life that goes unnoticed and explain why it is important to you” My outline is as follows:
P1 a. Story about me being on stage as the lead love interest for the second time in my drama club
    b. Lead that into the fact that I have anxiety
    c. “Thesis”- no one notices my struggles with anxiety, and I at times try to hide it from myself in order to deny the feeling of nausea and being lightheaded
P2 d. Discuss when and how I was diagnosed, and how I felt about it
    f. My refusal to tell anyone except my immediate family and why
    g. Transition into the next paragraph by stating that I let it control me, but I beat it
    P3 h. How I deal with it
    i. How I hide it from myself
    j. How I use it to push myself
    k. How it defines me
I know it sounds the cliche essay about overcoming, but I feel this really tells a lot about myself. Would this be an appropriate response?
  2. Can I use this essay for other schools which have the same/similar question?
  3. How do I answer the “why us?” essay?
Thanks and I hope I’m not being a pain in the neck!

The prompt is really interesting and almost everyone has something that goes nearly completely unnoticed. So there’s an ample number of responses. If anxiety ‘defines’ who you are you should definitely write about it.

I would want you to put an equivocal introduction so that the reader will not be able to guess much of your essay after reading the first 2 sentences(which is often the case given how experienced they are!).

g) But you should sound like you couldn’t beat it and that it took the better of you, until the last few sentences of course.Remember you want your essay to be as unique as possible.Put yourself in the reader’s shoes and imagine you’ve just finished reading the 100th monotonous essay. What would you want in the 101th?

i,j and k are obviously cliched, but you can definitely turn the tables to your favor.

3) The ‘why us’ essay is, in my opinion, the toughest to answer relevantly and without going down the banal ‘this place is perfect’ road.
