Is this appropriate? (essay)

So, in one of my essays, about the political issue, I call a certain country’s government barbaric (along with a few other harsh critiques of their policies). After writing it, I was wondering: is that appropriate? I keep imagining the adcom reading the essay and going “what the snizzle that my home country yo, this girl iz REJECTED!.”

Thanks in advance.

what’s the country? Do you make it a complex analogy about how primitive the decision-making process is, or is it a comment in passing? Is it necessary to the essay? Generally though, I would say you’d be fine, as long as its reasonable (e.g. calling Afghanistan under the Taliban barbaric is far different than calling Great Britain barbaric)

an besides, you’d be in good company… [YouTube - Robert Byrd Barbaric](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-V95eGgZbrU)

Vietnam. (I’m Vietnamese, actually.) It’s more of saying the government’s methods are a little barbaric, not the country itself.

I’m just gonna go with it …

Thanks!
