I was excepted into a program at Oxford University to study law/philosophy! I was so excited because I’ve spent my whole year involved in model congress and reading about philosophy so I thought this program was perfect for me.
Except it’s an expensive program (around $7000) and I heard colleges don’t appreciate expensive programs like this…
I am, however, paying my parents back for this program in increments through my jobs (babysitting and a local gift shop).
Is it bad that this program costs money?
I haven’t started applying to colleges yet but is there a way I could mention that I payed for this program myself, and that I didn’t just go because I had money?
Also does a college summer program count as an extracurricular?
Thanks for helping!
It’s not bad, but it’s not an EC. The best thing that you can do is to get the most you can out of the experience and see how you can knit the experience and more importantly what you take from the experience into your story arc.
Also, I trust it’s only a typo, but you were ‘accepted’, not ‘excepted’.
