I’m going to be a sophomore this September and I’m planning to self-study for AP biology. I have this textbook called “Life the science of biology 7th edition” by Purves, Sadava, Orians, heller (it’s by four authors). I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for AP biology, I’m actually not even sure if it’s right on the AP bio level or anything higher or lower since I’m not familiar with this textbook. Someone please help, and if this is not appropriate to self-study for, do you recommend any other textbook and review book for self-studying? Thank you.

You know that AP Bio is generally a senior level class after you have taken bio 1 and chem 1 right?

I already took bio, I’m planning to study chem over the summer. I’ll be studying AP bio throughout sophomore year while also taking chemistry.

It looks to be a college level text that actually contains more information than you need to know for AP bio.

Can’t hurt to look through it though. Just be sure that you don’t get stuck on studying stuff that won’t appear on the AP.
