*** is this BS

I've started practicing for the ACT (English in particular) because my score was really low (I didn't learn anything anything about grammar in school).

I started out with an 18. And after taking a practice test I got a 24.
At the time when I had a 24, the problems I missed most were the Rhetorics.

But I've changed my way of thinking for those problems a lot, and I try to focus on the content of the essay (Like reading).

BUT, today I took a practice test (Kaplan) and I only got a 26?? What gives?
My score was 60/75.

Guess what? I missed only one rhetoric question, the 14 others were grammar?
I need something that can help me master these rules fluently!
Learning these tricks don't help anymore:
",[conjuction]" = ";" = "."

Oh I've been studying for this for over a week now, so I NEED HELP!

You didn't learn anything anything about in grammar school, that much is clear.

Just give me your underground secret collection already

I'm still trying to figure out what the 3 letter starred word in your title is.

w.t.f. is this bs

Your problem:

Yeah, order the ACT red book and take its practice tests. They're a lot more accurate.

I've never had a lot of trouble in English,I got a 34 this time around and a 27 in 7th Grade, but I understand the not knowing grammar part. I've basically had to teach myself, because most of my teachers focused on either Literature or Essays/Writing. Both of which I enjoy, but they aren't very useful on the ACT. I have found that Cliffnote's Writing: Grammar, Usage, and Style and Grammar Essentials for Dummies are very good resources. Try those! Good luck.

If you need help on the grammar, you could always try sparknotes 7 Deadly SAT writing mistakes. Note that I've never taken the SAT, but I'm GUESSING (can anyone confirm?) that they test the same material.

@IceCube - Haha thanks for telling me that xD I would have probably remained with Kaplan xD
@hobbithill - I'm reading that as we speak.

I've realized, there is no point in taking tons of practice tests and working on pacing if I can't even get 100% with unlimited time.

xD I hope other people know that xD
