Note that I’m listing every class I have/will take in HS. Without putting every grade I got A’s in everything except during Freshman year I got 3 B’s. Please critique.

I have slightly above average ECs I think (Pres of Key Club, Pres. of Young Dems, Volunteer for local Democratic Committee, Intern at lawyer’s office, Editor-in-chief of Newspaper).

Non AP Math and Bio aren’t great, but if you don’t want to be premed you should probably be fine. Nothing wrong with your UW GPA, and your W GPA is decent, though not amazing. You certainly will be competitive at many universities, but HYP? Probably not uber competitive…

William and Mary might not be the best safety. Perhaps MSU’s James Madison program would be a better safety. I think William and Mary is more of a match. Tufts should be a match or high match. GWU probably a match. Why JHU instead of Georgetown for reach?

JHU has the best International Relations program in the country, or so I’ve heard. I visited Georgetown and wasn’t a big fan of the people there. I may still apply (I’m planning on another visit and hopefully I have a better day).

University of Rochester I’m also considering as a match. How is that?

And what could I do to increase my chances at Tufts?

I would apply to both JHU and Georgetown (JHU is great in int. relations, but so is Georgetown, so we could have an argument about which is better, personally I think Georgetown, but at the end of the day they are the top two, so why not apply to both?
Also, University of Rochester would be a match, though I don’t know about the strength of their program.
To increase your chances for admission at Tufts retaking the SAT and getting another 100 points would do a world of good.
Also, you don’t mention SAT II scores. Have you taken the SAT II? (it will definitely be necessary)

My sister took it and did really well. She had 4 years of Spanish, and said it was easier than AP Spanish. Also, it got her a really nice 2k scholarship!

Yes. There is a listening section, I don’t know about a speaking section, and a writing section, but if you get As in Spanish you should do pretty well!

3.9 UW or W? Honestly Tufts is a little tricky to predict, but I think high match low reach would be accurate. After all, each case is different, and CIA has awesome ECs and if he/she had a 2200 on the SAT I think he/she would be pretty competitive at Tufts.

I feel pretty good on average. That’s not going to be my final schedule because I’m leaving out a few classes I haven’t taken (Sr. year classes). I would probably add in 2 other APs but I’m unsure of what.
