Is this enough for this list?

Hi people,

I am Chinese and I am currently a freshman in the City College of New York (#50+ regionally). Came to the States at 12. Low income family. First gen to go to college. Sis is in Columbia CAS.

As the end of the first semester, I have a 4.0 gpa. My course load is this:

East Asian Culture and People study * 3 credits * – I took this because I want to be an international businessman between US and CN

Microeconomics – * 3 credits * ^^

Speech * 3 credits *-- as a business man, you need good speech foundations to better present yourself.

Writing and Reading in the Digital Era * 6 credits * – the world is getting more digitalized! Keep up!
By the end of the spring semester, I will have 39 credits in total because some AP credits got carried over from HS.

HS Stats:
Upward growth in GPA since freshman year: F: 88+, 86+, S (1 AP): 93+,96+, J (3 APs): 96, 96, S (3 APs): 99, 99. overall: 93+ weighted
Just took the SAT again, 4th time, got M750, R540, W640. 1930 or 1290
President + founder of Chinese Club, host the first career day for the whole school + student vs teacher volleyball competition + one of the biggest clubs.
Mentee of Minds Matter national program (very famous)
4 yrs of membership in YMCA’s leader’s club, was president for a year
4 years in Chinese American Planning Council (CPC). Has a amazing rec from the directory of operation.

Applied to the University of Rochester and Binghamton U. Wait listed for both.

Summers:
Freshman year: didn’t do anything
Sophomore year: took one class at Cornell University. 3.7 GPA
Junior year: took a summer enrichment class (microeconomics) at Stanford. The program is called EPGY Summer Institutes at Stanford.
Senior year: interned as a volunteer coordinator at CPC, fourth year.

Major awards:
american federal award for leadership-- senior year.

College activities:
Working as a part time employee for the IT department on campus. 19 hours per week
Will very likely be working on a research paper with my professor from East Asian Culture and People.

Recommendations:
1 will be very strong (reading and writing in the digital era),supposedly
1 will be strong (speech class),grade A + i challenge myself since I have accent…

As you guys may notice, I am taking a lot of classes & work that are related to East Asia & Chinese people. This is because, as I mentioned before, I want to become an international businessman btw CN and US. However, in order to trade with Chinese people, you need to embrace their culture first. Though I AM A CHINESE, I do not REALLY KNOW what is CHINA since I came at 12. )(@#$)&()@$!@#(*)&@)(#&$ I did not take this class for a easy A, I am actually interested in it. & I will explain it in my common app essay so every school will know.

Reasons for transferring:
Pretty good i guess. The school doesn’t offer entrepreneurship related classes. Commuter school-- empty library on Friday, saturday, and Sunday. I do not like that, i want an environment which everybody is studying. Family issues. to further challenge myself. Want to go to a better liberal arts college because thats what makes students more knowledgeable-- only with more knowledge and a broader view on the spectrum, can one be a successful businessman.

NYU will give you very little financial aid. Be prepared to pay.
Everything below NYU will accept you.
I put NYU at 50%, Michigan at 60%, Rochester at 30%, Penn at 10%, Dartmouth at 3%, Cornell at 15%, and Columbia at 5%.

These are just arbitrary estimations, but basically I am saying rejections at Dartmouth, Columbia, and Penn. Acceptances at NYU and Michigan. Rochester and Cornell are reaches.

@Justanothertrans, thanks for posting. Your #s for the ivies aren’t as arbitrary, they are actually pretty close to the ACTUAL ACCEPTANCE PERCENTAGE of those schools. Getting into NYU or Michigan is good enough for me. I am only applying to the ivies for far reach. You know?
