<p>In Maryland, these are guidelines exactly. You may count a service to the community performed through your church i.e. your youth group volunteering for Christmas in April, but you may not count volunteer service that is directed toward the church itself.</p>
<p>In the end, if we can get kids to give up their personal time to do service for no compensation, I think its a mission accomplished. Why can’t we keep the lesson simple?</p>
