Is this fast enough?

I’ve been taking many practice tests lately and I decided to write down how much time is left after I finish each section. I can’t recall where I read it, but somewhere it said that the ideal time is to only give yourself a fraction of the time the testers give you in order to help your speed and focus.

I finish each section usually in:

CR: ~7minutes ahead of time

W: ~5minutes ahead of time

M: ~5minutes ahead of time

This is my natural pace at which I take the practice tests, unless I am really struggling with one problem, these should be the times. Is this a comfortable amount of cushion I’m giving myself? I feel if I go faster, I’m giving up accuracy for speed and my scores will suffer.

Any recommendations?

Theoretically speaking, finishing with any amount of time remaining is fast enough  You’d at least be able to scan over your answers, checking for stupid mistakes/skipped questions.

Ideally, though? Your CR is pretty awesome. But W and M could definitely be better. 10 minutes to spare in M is great, and honestly, 15 minutes or so on each W multiple choice section would really be perfect.

If that sounds impossible, I’d like to assure you that it isn’t :3 You can easily blow through W multiple choice if you know the material they test every time, and finishing math in 10-15 minutes can easily come with practice.

Those are the buffers I worked with on test day, and they’ve paid off :)
