is this major not helpful and/or not worth it?

policy analysis and management…it would be at an ivy league school…is it looked down upon compared to other majors in any way shape or form (other majors = the more conventional ones)

It depends on what you want to do with the major! Are you looking to get a job with a bachelor’s degree? If so, doing what? Are you looking to go to law school, grad school, get an M.B.A.? This major could be a perfect plan or not ideal.

I have to say, this sounds much more like something someone would do in grad school than like something you’d get an undergrad degree in. How many bachelor’s does Cornell award each year in this major, and where do the students end up? Ask the department chair about where the last few years of graduates ended up.

i do know that nearly 2 out of 10 kids go on to law school and more than that go on to other graduate programs like mbas…
with that said, i’m planning on going to law school as my first priority and if possible getting my mba simultaneously, but that is not as much of a priority as is the JD.
i do plan on becoming something law related, most probably a lawyer and in the future i plan on getting into politics and running for elected office. a career right out of college with just the bachelor’s is not probable, unless of course it was a once in a lifetime opportunity but even then i’d want to go back to school
