In the pdf below, it supposedly gives you the formulas to calculate your academic index and guesstimate your freshman gpa BUT none of the gpa’s add up to 4.1 like the pdf says they should! With perfect scores they all very, some by as much as .3!

Any ideas as to why?!

I think they all exceed the 4.0 mark with perfect scores (the pdf says the formulas should add up to 4.0, but with the additional tenth of a point for surpassing their class credit requirement, a 4.1 would be possible. I think the formulas all go above the 4.0 mark with perfect scores because in UT’s opinion, a perfect score is neither required nor necessary to be predicted to obtain a 4.0 freshman year. That is why, in my opinion, lower scores/rank are where the 4.0 cutoff is.

warlock46 that I’d a very valid point, but the only thing that makes me question it is that the max gpa for business using the SAT is a 3.72 (3.82 with the bump), while when using the ACT it is closer to a 4.3! So if you took the SAT then you can’t get a perfect freshman gpa but if you took the act you can? Haha that’s what confuses me.
