Is this really weird?

I have somewhat of an emotional attachment to Ancient Rome and Roman figures (Caesar, Cicero, Catiline, etc.) - like, I feel an emotional connection to Cicero when I read his speeches in Latin class (I’m a third year Latin student, which might attribute to this connection) - the only person I know who shares in this feeling is my Latin teacher herself.

I’ll give you an example - in 8th grade, we had to read about the Fall of Rome, and I felt really empty inside, like my heart dropped and I got all choked up.

Is this bad? I feel like minoring in the Classics in college, just so I can carry on my studies of Ancient Rome/Roman Empire/Roman Republic/etc - not major though, I’m not nearly intelligent enough to take on solely advanced college leveled Latin and Greek classes…

Rome is hands down my favorite period of history to study. Perhaps that goes without saying.

Is this really bizarre?

No I don’t think so. I think you are just passionate about those stuff, aren’t you?. Keep it up. You may choose those as your major in college.

I don’t think so. I have the same connection with World War II and those historical figures. Perhaps, it’s because you feel like you understand the Romans and what they tried to obtain. Definitely not bizarre.

Isn’t it obvious? You were definitely a Roman general and/or high ranking Roman citizen in your past life.

It’s definitely not weird. I think it means you’ve found a great passion/interest in something!! Personally I feel this way about certain time periods of history too. I would definitely continue with your interest and connection with this.
