I’m trying to decide what to my senior year of high school and I wanted to know if anyone was able to take these APs. The schedule in question is AP Macro, Govt, English Lit, Calc BC, Physics C (only mechanics in school, but may self-study E&M), Bio, Chem, and Art History. This year I took five (Lang, Stats, U.S, Calc AB, and Human Geo) and got almost all As. I just want to know if anyone thinks this jump would be possible or should I switch out of one of these?

Taking Calc BC, Physics C, Chem, and Bio at the same time would be a lot. Not to mention various reading for Lit and studying in Govt/Art History. Given you took Calc AB, the majority of BC should be a breeze, but it’s still a substantial amount of work. You sound like a solid student, so I think it’s doable, assuming that none of the teachers are particularly known for being slavedrivers in homework load. But still, don’t forget it’s your senior year. Personally I would pick one to drop, but I bet you can handle it if you really want to take all these classes and get credit for these exams.

As a senior who took 6 ap exams, I found the workload very managable, but it was quite frustrating to have sizeable amounts of homework while many of my amigos were breezing through school and just screwing around all day (in and out of school). I was originally going to take 7, but I ended up dropping one to take an off period and get out of school early. Was a solid choice.

I’m an IB diploma candidate, and I took all IB/AP classes my senior year: IB English Hl, IB Spanish, AP govt, Calc AB, Macro, IB Spanish, IB/Ap fizz B. I self studied for Bio, Micro, ES, Lit, and some others I cant remember. But the point is,

Honestly, Macro, Govt are pretty easy. As long as you pay attention in the class, you don’t really have to work that hard (you might have to read some chapters on your own though) . But it’s harder to get a 5 on these tests because the curve is pretty harsh. For some reason, Physics C, Bio, Chem seem like too many sciences in one year, and the workload might be very very heavy. So If I were you, I would probably drop one of the sciences. Choose wisely.

And also you might get affected with severe Senioritis which could probably affect your grades in these classes. But you seem like a smart kid who can handle the disease. So good luck! Make a wise decision.

im worried too man haha… heres my schedule

AP Chem
AP Bio
AP Calc BC
AP Physics C
AP Government
AP Literature and Composition
AP Macroeconomics
Anatomy and Physiology

Wow, that’s a lot of classes…I think that Physics C, Chem, and Bio would be hard at the same time. I did physics C and bio both this year, which was doable, although I had to study a lot for the biology exam because I had never taken a biology class before. The social studies tests can get very time consuming with reading and such, so if you were to drop a class I would recommend dropping history or social studies. Other than that you should be okay.

My schedule next year will be:
AP English Lit
AP Stats
AP Marco/US Gov Honors
AP French
APES
Online course in Linear Algebra
Fortunately, English Lit and French will be my only “hard” classes.

@crazyspaz- Like what the others have said above, you sound like a solid student, so its probably doable and Yes DO NOT catch senioritis, i here it’s severely contagious.

@jd989898- WOW that’s alot of science classes. Can do.

I too also need help with my senior year schedule.
This year i took 3 AP’s (Bio, Euro, Eng lang) and next year im enrolled in 5
Physics B
Micro/Macro Economics
Calculus AB
Art History
English Literature
plus a free TA period and regular Spanish 2

and i am planning on self studying Psychology

I tried to sign up for AP Computer Science, but my registrar said i would have to drop one of the others. Do you think i should still try to learn comp sci with the teacher on my own time? Is this doable?

I really want to learn comp sci because it sounds really interesting. What should i do? Maybe God meant for me not to take the Comp Sci exam?
