Is this sentence redundant?

Here it is:
Youth-to-youth peer education remains my greatest…

I’m concerned with the “youth-to-youth peer” education part. My mom thinks it’s redundant because my peers are youth. I think it’s correct because the youth with whom I work are not usually my peers in the social or economic sense. My sister thinks it can go either way.

Help, please!

Redundant, though not glaringly so. Peer and youth-to-youth convey the same information. The fact that these kids aren’t your typical peers isn’t evident from either phrase and will need to be elaborated on separately.
