Is this sketchy?

Ok so I was in need of an ACT tutor and ended up on thumbtack where I found the name and website of a tutor. He seemed Legit and had some reviews. I accidentally said I was a junior on the website and my account got deleted. But I still had this guys website. So I went to his website and checked him out. I filled out the “contact me” thing so we could get in touch. We emailed back and fourth trying to set up a time for him to call. My mom and I talked to him and it felt kinda weird. He doesnt have a location. He said He usually either goes to peoples house or meets up with them somewhere life a coffee shop or something. Then he asked me if I could drive. I said I could. He said cool so we could meet up in the middle. Not sure exactly where he is Located but he says he caters To the LA area. I live in a suburb around 15 min away from DTLA. he said he was out of town and would contact me when he got back. Today he emailed Me saying he wanted To meet up on Saturday in dtla. Thus seems a little sketch to me. My mom and maybe my dad would go but still. Doesn’t it seem a little weird to anyone else?
Also, is thumbtack trustworthy? I mean, anyone could’ve written those reviews right? Thanks

I don’t want to die

If the tutor is difficult to contact and seems strange, move on. Either could manifest in tutoring.

Not sure, but if you feel the least bit uncomfortable DO NOT go. Delete the website and stop any contact.

There are so many legit tutors… why work with someone who makes you uncomfortable??

Sounds totally sketchy to me. Trust your gut instinct.

Prepping for the ACT will require regimented frequent practices and going over things with the tutor. Having a tutor where you would meet at some coffee shop or similar places isn’t the optimal place for being tutored. I think it would just be a waste of your time and money to go with this guy, aside from it siding “sketchy”.
The best places would be the legit tutoring places/services. Being that you’re in LA, you might want to look into (Google) many Korean SAT/ACT tutoring center where they have very experienced tutors and classes. Often they would do an assessment test to know which subjects you are weakest in and they can devise a program to help strengthen your weakness.
