Is this too much?

Hello CC
I recently set up my senior year HS schedule and realized I got myself into a lot…
I know that every school varies when it comes to difficulty of AP’s, but by any experiences can you guys tell me if I’m going to get overwhelmed?

AP Physics
AP calc BC
AP Euro
AP Art history
AP Psych
AP Lit
AP Gov

PS> just to give you an idea of what i’ve done in the past
AP chem, us, and stat 5’s all junior year
AP geo 5 sophmore year

So yeah…should I drop a class for a free bell or what? Will this look great if I get A’s in all of these?

It seems a stressful, but if you can manage it and get good grades it’d look good. If you want to drop a class you can drop Psych, which would give you a free period. Then if you still want to take the test you can self-study which I feel would be easier in this case than taking the actual class.

Not even the top schools expect to see this many APs, although if you would get very strong grades in the fall semester it would be quite impressive to them. The more important consideration is that colleges really don’t want to see students get in over their heads. If you do, (that is, if your GPA drops this fall because of the rigor of your courses), that will count against you. You should be taking the hardest load that you feel comfortable excelling in. It sounds like you are a little worried about your grades - if that’s the case dropping one or two makes a lot of sense.

If you do choose to drop one, I would suggest dropping AP Euro, since it will most likely give you the most work, studying and written-wise. But, it could vary from school-to-school

It will look great if you get all A’s. However, there will be many students having schedules with similar rigor, so it won’t be “unique.”

However, if you get bad grades it won’t look good. I recommend talking with your counselor and friends, who know the difficulty level of the courses (each HS differs) and can thus advise you better.

I know many people who managed with 6 APs (but my school doesn’t have very hard AP teachers).

I agree with schoolisfun about the Euro. You are already taking Gov.
