Is this too specific for the why Yale essay?

Hey,

I kinda talked about a certain Prof I would like to work with, and that’s it. Will they hate the fact that I only mentioned a Prof and nothing else? If any current or soon to be Yale students could read my essay and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks

that’s a unique way to answer this question

Really, how did you do it? Did you already get into Yale?

peafire, I mentioned a Yale professor in my “Why Yale”…I am applying RD

So did you mention the prof and then other stuff too? Or did you do it the way I did and only mentioned the prof?

I only talked about a certain professor in my essay. I kept it on the same lines as the Penn essay. Although I am positive this is not the creative route.

okay, I’ll leave mine the way it is then. Thx for ur input

is the “why Yale” essay the 50 words one?

yes it is 50 words

If you threw in a few words to the effect of ‘and this is an example of the way I love yale’s resources’ or something like that you might be well served. I think Yale would like to be reminded of the ways you will use their ample resources. At the least, I think you could cover your desire to work with this prof AND something else within 50 words; I mentioned two things myself for the EA round. (And got in! So you see, it’s not suicide)

So I could talk about it’s research opportunitites? Or facilities? So I could combine that with the prof. and then it’d be a better answer?

but when you are talking about professors, did you have any personal or prevoius connection with them, or you just based it on your research on’em?
